Hosting a special celebration at a restaurant with incredible food, an awesome view and top notch staff is simply a no-brainer. It can often be more costly to throw a party at a restaurant, opposed to your home, but the clear benefits make it all worth it. Besides, your guests will be beyond impressed (especially if you listen to these three tips!)
Start Communicating Early
It’s important to speak with the restaurant’s special event coordinator and curate a menu with the chef and bartender. At Marker 32, we can create the menu perfect for your occasion. Cocktails and passing hors d’oeuvres? We’ve got it covered. A full six-course meal with an open bar? No problem. The earlier we hear from you and discuss the plans for your party, the more customized we can make the event. But if planning isn’t your thing, there’s no need to worry. Our on-staff coordinator will make sure everything’s taken care of.
Send Proper Invitations
It’s important to show your guests this is a party, not simply a get together over dinner. For a formal gathering, go for written invitations sent at least two weeks in advance. Not only will your grandma be proud of your old-fashioned courtesy, but your guests will understand the tone for the evening before they even arrive to the restaurant.
Decide on the Food
The restaurant manager or special event coordinator will work with you to create a perfect menu to please all of your guests. Working to plan the food in advance can do a great job of simplifying the planning and cutting down costs. We recommended choosing multiple appetizers and two or three main courses – one meat, one vegetarian and one fish. Don’t break the cardinal rule of party planning and forget about certain food sensitivities! When it comes to desserts, you have nothing but flexibility. Everything from bringing your own cake for a birthday bash to rotating desserts on the table will be a great nightcap to your lovely evening.
Set the Tone
Head into the venue at least 30 minutes in advance to get the area ready for your party. It’s a great idea to bring small floral arrangements, balloons or any other decor to achieve the look you’re going for. If you plan on bringing candles, be sure to clear it with the restaurant first. Also, it’s always a good idea to have a few open bottles of wine ready for the early birds, and possibly even some small appetizers.
Take Care of the Tab
You have a couple options here, so choose whichever works best for you. To make it easy, it’s always a wise idea to pay the bill in advance and simply tell the restaurant to add any incidentals to your credit card afterward. If you do choose to pay the night of the event, speak with the maître d’ while your guests are enjoying their dessert. These are the best ways to make sure your guests never even catch a glimpse of the bill.
There are a million reasons to host your next party at Marker 32, but the ease of the experience might just take the cake. We have an incredible staff that does a great job of orchestrating the evening and making sure everything runs smoothly. When you’re ready to get the ball rolling, contact us about menu options and pricing. We’re so excited to be a part of your next event!
